Missionary Training Centre Week 3

Happy Friday !
This week was full of interesting experiences. It started on Sunday when i was wondering what i should be doing to be better at teaching and our bishops counselor Brother Webb said << Your too Quiet. There's a spirit when you speak, so speak up! you have such depth and you have something to offer. >> And I thought <<#answer Madison. You have something top offer!!!! So BE BOLD!!>> then i got the opportunity to speak in church (how they do this is EVERYONE prepares a little talk and then they announce who will speak from the pulpit at the beginning of the meeting. I kinda saw it coming. ) So i talked about Faith. Faith is an Action word and Requires us to Try our faith before we can experience miracles. we have to hope. I Love the story in the Book Of Mormon about the Brother Of Jared because not only did he have faith enough to see Gesu Crist ( Jesus Christ) but also faith to set sail with his family away from his home and not really know where he was going. He Trusted and Had Faith in The Lord to guide him to a promise land (or a better place)
WE also got to hear Sunday from the President of the Quorum of the 70 (whose name escapes me) the message i got from him was that I am ALWAYS a representative of Christ and the Church. So Everyone I meet - Including my companions, members of the church, and strangers - should feel His Love through me. and you don't really Need anything to testify of a loving Saviour, just Faith, Hope, and a smile!
Another cool thing was we were preparing to teach Radu the other day and we weren't sure what to teach so we did some personal studying and came together and the things we were guided to search and find - especaly the scriptures- were just what he needed.

Scripture of the week is in Alma Capitolo 34
<< 17 Therefore may God grant unto you, my brethren, that ye may begin to exercise your faith unto repentance, that ye begin to call upon his holy name, that he would have mercy upon you;
18 Yea, cry unto him for mercy; for he is mighty to save. 19 Yea, humble yourselves, ancontinue in prayer unto him.... 26 But this is not all; ye must pour out your souls in your closetsand your secret places, and in your wilderness. 27 Yea, and when you do not cry unto the Lord, let your hearts be fulldrawn out in prayer unto him continually for your welfareand also for the welfare of those who are around you. >>
Pray Always. I really like how it says YOUR wildernesses. I dont think this is only physically. When you feel Alone and like you are in a desolate place - a spiritual wilderness- cry unto the lord and pray unto the lord.

Missionary Traning Centre Week 2

Ciao!
This week was fantastical ! We have got two new Teachers Sorella Griffin & Fratello Sloan, and our last one - Sorella Bucco -  left to go teach in South America somewhere. They are super awesome and I am Loving learning Italiano perche its is so pretty! Our two teachers are also our two Sipatizzanti or people Interested in learning about our church who we get to teach in full Italianio!
we also are able to teach People living in this area who speak Italian who volunteer to be taught by those learning Italian, so that was really cool. It was just practicing how to have a normal conversation but in another language. Its molti strano. To think I've only been here 2 weeks but am holding decent conversations in a language I didn't know two weeks ago. And for sure i dont know a lot of words and make all the mistakes but I can understand and get my point across and help other come unto Christ even with my limited Italian! Which leads to why Tutti le Navi. Well it snowed a few times this week, as well as slushed. which is like a really strange thing that I guess happens here where rain and snow can't make up their mind so they just both jump out of the clouds and form huge wet slush flakes that hit you in the face. hence all the snows ( thats not a real phrase so I wouldn't use that if i were you) Also FYI Grazie is pronounced Grah-C-EH. kn ow you know. My name is also pronounced Lah-Lond-EH.
Oh also This week I was Blessed with the opportunity to sing to all the new Mission presidents and the new MTC president who came here for a seminar! what an amazing experience to sing and bear my testimony - sing what I Know is true. I know My savior and Redeemer Lives and what joy that sentence gives. The Apostle Neil L. Anderson also came and spoke to us and what an amazing time that was! Its just such a blessing!!!!!! I've been thinking about joy this week and that's really our purpose as missionaries is to share the joy that comes from knowing who you are and why you are here!
One of my teachers also told us that its important to ask for experiences to share with those seeking truth. So that's what I'm trying to do, to continually strengthen my beliefs so I can Help others. every day you don't strengthen your own testimony or beliefs you are in danger of loosing them.

1) my rendering of our teachers
2) us trying to memorize Italian scriptures

3-5) my district and zone at the Provo Temple!

FROM MADISON:
Hi All! I only have a little bit of time so I'm just writing a mass email to everyone!!! So yes Emily you will need to update my blog (Edit to make readable) and Philip I get to use my tablet and check emails whenever but I can only answer in P-Days. <<P-Days are the one day missionaries get per week to do preparation work for the week ahead. These days typically consist of laundry, sports, grocery shopping, and writing home>>
Sorella Lalonde and Sorella Rhoades
learning in Italian

SSOOOOO Its going really well!!!! They speak Italian to you right off the bat 100% in class and you have language study time and then your 3rd day you teach an "investigator" or someone who wants to know more about the Gospel in full Italiano! Its Molti Bene!<<translation: very good>> Im feeling good! I'm learning a lot about our purpose; to invite others to come unto Christ and learn about him. We as Missionaries are his finders and bring people closer to Heavenly Father and the Gesù Cristo! We just need to commit fully to him and to do his work. Im trying to use every moment I have to study and learn because i only have this 6 weeks (or I guess 5 more weeks) to prepare for the next 18 months.
Sorella Lalonde, Sorella Manning, and Sorella Rhoades
The first days flew by I can't believe its been a week. My companions are Sorella Rhoades and Sorella Manning - so they are with me 24/7- and they are super sweet<<translation: Sorella means sister which is the 'surname' given to all female missionaries. The men are called elder>>. We have fun but get to work. We have 3 Italian districts - or groups of 3 companions- and half are Milan missionaries and half are Rome. There are only the thre sisters though. A little out numbered by Anziani (elders). Me and Sorella Rhoades are Sister training leaders, so the other Romanian sisters who just moved in we also watch over we check up on and are like relief society people....
We joined the choir and that was fun there are so many and the choir director is amazing! OOOO and I get to be in this smaller choir because I have so much experience and that choir is for next week when there is a new MTC Mission president, and other presidents and some of the 12 apostles have meetings!!!! I'll get to sing to some very inspiring and important people!

"our purpose" in Italian
I've loved learning about missionary work and why we are called to serve. Its about bringing people to Christ to have faith. As missionaries we are representative of Gesù Cristo in finding the people he needs us to help.
